The 23rd Hongcheon Ginseng & Korean Beef Premium Festival and the 10th Hongcheon Apple Festival opened at Tori Forest in Hongcheon City Forest Park, running four days through Nov. 2. The opening featured a musical performance themed “Three are Better,” symbolizing ginseng, hanwoo (Korean beef) and apples with gold, bronze and red colors, plus an AI video titled “Health Traffic Light to Hongcheon.” Local officials performed a ribbon-pulling ceremony to unveil the festival’s attractions. For the first time the two festivals are held together, highlighting 6-year-old ginseng, Neulpureum hanwoo (a local beef brand), and Hongcheon apples with diverse performances, participatory events (apple peeling, ginseng auction), TV broadcasts, concerts, and tasting booths. There are special promotions—up to 50% discounts on hanwoo and 30–50% discounts on ginseng—expanded free tastings, an ginseng makgeolli (fermented rice wine) tasting, food stalls, and shuttle buses for a “car-free festival.” Organizers emphasized safety, medical support, and practical consumer benefits to boost local farmers and the regional economy.
