Gangwon Province in South Korea is hosting several winter festivals from January to February, leveraging its snowy and icy landscape. The Daegwallyeong Snow Festival, featuring a 120m snow tunnel and snow sculptures, and the Pyeongchang Trout Festival, with trout fishing and snow rafting, are ongoing. Additionally, the Hwacheon Sancheoneo (mountain trout) Ice Festival offers ice fishing and ice sculpture galleries. In Hongcheon, visitors can experience an event dedicated to ginseng-fed trout, while Taebaek is preparing for a festival with 33 programs, including an international student snow sculpture contest. These festivals aim to boost the local economy.
