Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon met with Paramount executives and Shinsegae representatives in the U.S. to accelerate completion of the Hwaseong International Theme Park (also called Hwaseong Paramount Theme Park). Shinsegae Property expanded the project budget from 4.5 trillion to 9.5 trillion won through phased development, aiming for partial opening in 2030 and full completion after 2035. The park, planned on about 4.23 km² in SongSan Green City, will use Paramount’s film and character brands to create immersive attractions and aims for 30 million annual visitors, 110,000 jobs, and large economic impact by 2050. Officials emphasized strong public-private partnership and the park’s potential to become an Asian landmark.
