Even though peak fall colors are expected a bit later than usual (late October to early–mid November), resorts near popular foliage spots—Seorak, Pyeongchang, Cheongsong and Seoul’s Uuidong—are already nearly fully booked. Major hotel groups like Kensington (Kensington Resort Seorak Valley) report weekend occupancy around 90–96%, with foreign guests at Seorak up twofold. Hanwha, Sono and others likewise say many properties are sold out on fall weekends; packages including rooms, breakfast and attraction tickets sell out early. Forest attractions such as Hwadam Forest are running limited-entry fall festivals (reservation-only) and expect roughly 240,000 visitors. Operators cite earlier-than-usual booking lead times, strong family demand, and shuttle services linking resorts and forests as reasons for the surge.
