CJ CheilJedang has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Jeollanam-do and Haenam-gun to develop technology for on-land laver aquaculture. Jeollanam-do, producing around 80% of South Korea’s laver (dried seaweed) and Haenam, a major laver production site, are collaborating with CJ CheilJedang's technological expertise. This initiative aims to enhance Korea's laver production capabilities and global market reach, with government support totaling 35 billion KRW (about $28.7 million) over five years for sustainable seed cultivation and aquaculture technologies.
