The National Museum of Korea in Yongsan, Seoul, held an opening ceremony on Oct. 28 for its new Conservation Science Center. Staff demonstrated conservation work, including a dry cleaning process for wooden Buddhist statues in the wood laboratory. The center will support preservation and scientific study of cultural heritage using specialized labs and techniques. (Yongsan is a district in Seoul; wooden Buddhist statues are traditional Korean religious artifacts.)
