The National Asian Culture Center (ACC) in Gwangju has unveiled a special promotional project for its 10th anniversary: a ‘Jangmang Loopy’ character photo zone opening Oct. 28. The cute character installations are located in the ACC’s Culture Information Center lobby and the Sky Yard (하늘마당) to create a friendly, lively cultural space for visitors of all ages. A 3-meter-high inflatable Loopy (air balloon) will sit in the lobby through Dec. 26 for easy indoor photos, while two FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic) Loopy sculptures (800mm and 900mm) will be on the Sky Yard benches until April 26, 2026. The character “Jangmang Loopy,” from the animated series Porong Porong Pororo, has recently gained wide popularity as a relatable meme and sticker figure on social media. ACC hopes the playful photo zones and related merchandise sold nearby will attract families and younger visitors to enjoy the anniversary events.
