Crafting Personal Stories in Clay at Eco Art FairCreatrip Team
a month ago
The 2025 Eco Art Fair FLOW in Gangwon Province features community-focused side programs that turn personal stories into regional artistic value. Ahead of the main event, a 1-night, 2-day pottery camp called "Chwiseongdo (取星陶) — Pottery Holding Stars" was held at Yanggu Baekto Village with 37 participants. Activities highlighted local heritage—Yanggu white clay (Yanggu baekto) linked to Joseon white porcelain—and offered hands-on experiences: painting bowls with blue glaze (cheonganryo), an eco-friendly smokeless wood kiln, and open studios by resident artists including an international (Spanish) guest. Works made at the camp were displayed in the fair under the theme “Pottery Holding Stars.” Additional programs include a traditional tea culture session led by resident potter Lee Jung-woo and Jeong Mi-seon, an artist talk with moss artist Yang Jong-yong, a handmade paper notebook workshop by artist Lee Jin-kyung (known for Ssamzie Cheo), and a lecture on Yanggu white porcelain by museum director Jeong Du-seop. The fair runs through the 2nd of next month at the Gangwon Design Promotion Agency.
