GoPizza, a global foodtech company, has launched a Korean-style QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) brand called gochujang in Bangalore, India, aiming to spread K-food beyond pizza. The brand opened its first outlet in Nexus Koramangala Mall in August, offering localized spicy versions of popular street-food items like ramen and corn dogs, and fusing Korean flavors with Indian ingredients such as paneer (Indian cottage cheese). Signature items—corn dog, buldak paneer bowl, and buldak chicken ball—quickly became top sellers. GoPizza added a second store at the end of August and plans a third in November, targeting four stores by year-end and 20 by next year. The move follows success with their character dessert brand Dalkomi (달코미) in India and Southeast Asia. GoPizza says its strategy—setting up local subsidiaries, diversifying into pizza, desserts, and Korean dishes—shows K-food can become an everyday dining option in foreign markets and positions K-food as a growing category in Asia’s QSR sector.
