Gumi city and Korail have launched the 2025 "Paldo Market" tourist train, a day-trip rail route connecting major cities (Seoul, Busan, Daegu, etc.) to Gumi's attractions and its traditional market, Saemaeul Central Market (새마을중앙시장). Two main courses run: Course 1 links Seoul Station–Gimcheon Gumi Station–Silla Buddhism Origin Site–Geumo Mountain cable car–Saemaeul Central Market; Course 2 connects regional departure points–Dongdaegu Station–Park Chung-hee Birthplace–Geumo Mountain–Geumridan-gil–Saemaeul Central Market. The train schedule aligns with Gumi’s festivals so visitors can join events and shop at local markets. Highlighted events include the K-Onnuri Pass refund event (9/25–11/9), Bye Gumi Festival (10/25, 11/15), Daegyeong Sennog Station popup (10/31–11/30), Gumi Culture Road Festival (10/31–11/2), Gumi Ramen Festival (11/7–11/9), and Geumridan-gil Alley Festa (11/28–11/30). Mayor Kim Jang-ho called the train a symbolic project to revitalize traditional markets and said the city will continue to expand this rail-culture-market tourism model.
