Nov 1 'Eat Korean Beef' Day: Nationwide Hanwoo Sale Up to 50% OffCreatrip Team
a month ago
South Korea's Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced a nationwide Hanwoo (Korean beef) discount event, 'So-Prize 2025 Korea Hanwoo Sale,' running Oct 28–Nov 10. Major supermarkets, 630 Nonghyup Hanaro Mart locations, and online malls will offer 30–50% discounts to mark Nov 1 'Hanwoo Eating Day' and the Korea Grand Festival. Popular cuts such as sirloin, brisket, and shoulder (for bulgogi and soup) in grades 1+ to 2 will be included; prices for 100g examples are about 7,950 won for sirloin, 4,040 won for brisket, and under 2,980 won for other bulgogi/soup cuts—roughly 20–30% cheaper than the usual early-November prices. Consumers are advised to check specific store schedules and stock via the Hanwoo Fund, the National Hanwoo Association websites, or the 'YeogigoGi' app. The day, established in 2008 by producers to offer more affordable Hanwoo, aims to help households with grocery costs while promoting domestic beef consumption.
