The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries partnered with famed Chinese cuisine chef Jung Ji-seon to release two ready-to-cook meal kits: 'Gim Sauce Abalone Bibim-myeon' and 'Black Vinegar Rice with Abalone' (밀키트, meal kits). Both use domestic abalone and gim (dried seaweed) for chewy texture and unique flavors, and include Chef Jung’s special sauce. The products are being trial-sold on online platforms like Naver Shopping and 11st; cooking videos will be posted on the ministry’s and Chef Jung’s YouTube channels on the 28th. Wider retail rollout, starting at select Daiclo stores on the 3rd, will expand to major supermarkets. The ministry says the collaboration aims to help families easily enjoy nutritious seafood and plans more partnerships to promote Korean seafood.
