The Seoul Metropolitan Archives opened a special exhibition titled "A City’s Boarding Records" documenting Seoul’s transportation evolution from the 1950s to the 1980s. The show traces the city’s growth through changes in mobility—from expanded surface transport like buses, taxis, and elevated roads to the three-dimensional city enabled by the opening of the subway. Over 140 items are on display, including 120 public records from the archives and about 20 citizen-contributed materials. For the first time, donated materials from Kim Young-su, an engineer involved in Seoul’s 1970s subway construction, are publicly exhibited. Interactive sections invite visitors to leave their own transport memories in the “A Citizen’s Boarding Record” corner and to document daily routes in “Today’s Boarding Record.” The exhibition runs in Gallery 1 of the Seoul Metropolitan Archives through August 31, 2028.
