South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy is speeding up cooperation with Saudi Arabia on key manufacturing and advanced industries. Vice Minister Moon Sinhak met Saudi Vice Minister Abdullah Al-Ahmar to review progress from the 5th Korea–Saudi Vision 2030 committee and discuss support for Korean companies operating in Saudi projects. Key areas include shipbuilding (IMI shipyard at King Salman Industrial City) and an auto assembly plant in King Abdullah Economic City, joint development of low‑carbon ship technologies, hydrogen refueling infrastructure and quality control for hydrogen vehicles, and accelerating AI infrastructure and collaboration—such as semiconductors, data centers, digital twin, cloud and robotics. Both sides agreed to deepen government‑level coordination to ensure project implementation and to expand AI and green technology partnerships.
