Mini Urban Getaway: Nationwide Local Cafes Gather for 'Local-ro Cafe Trip' Pop-up

Seoul City and the Seoul Tourism Foundation will host ‘Local-ro Cafe Trip,’ a pop-up store showcasing hip local cafes and desserts from regions including Gyeongbuk, Daejeon, Jeju, Chungnam, Chungbuk and Seoul. Open on the rooftop of the city’s regional tourism antenna shop from Oct. 30 to Nov. 8 (Thurs–Sat, 10:00–18:00), the event recreates an autumn urban getaway with music, relaxation and hands-on experiences against sights like Deoksugung Stone Wall Road and the Myeongdong Cathedral (Seonggonghoe Cathedral). Participating brands will offer signature drinks and desserts; an LP lounge will play curated vinyl, and live busking (jazz and old pop) will run on Thursdays and Fridays. Interactive programs include a ‘Brand Signature Class’ to make a café’s signature menu, ‘Local Soundbox’ radio content made from local stories and song requests, and ‘Coffee Grounds Mix Lab’ crafting air fresheners and seed bombs from spent coffee grounds. A hashtag event and pre-launch promotions for foreign visitors—discount vouchers available via an international platform—are also planned. The foundation says the pop-up aims to boost local entrepreneurs and foster Seoul‑region collaboration for new tourism experiences.
