Yeseung Lee’s solo show “Attic: Memory · Cloud · Mirage” at Perigee Gallery in Seoul recreates the intimate atmosphere of a childhood attic as a counterpoint to the rise of AI and digital media. Rather than using AI or VR, Lee presents curtain-enclosed, dimly lit spaces filled with shelves and tactile objects—rose thorns, a rooster comb, marbles, a hobbyhorse, embroidered cloth—evoking memories of her grandmother’s attic. The artist says that while AI can generate narratives and even films, it cannot fully reproduce the sensory, emotional traces accumulated in human memory; her installation invites viewers to touch, move between layered curtains, and sit quietly to feel those warm, personal recollections come alive. The exhibition runs through Nov. 29.
