Perugina (?) Perfetti Van Melle opened a themed popup store called CHUTOPIA in Hongdae Square to celebrate new Chupa Chups jelly “Sour Tube” and Mentos “Peeling Very Good.” Running from Oct 25 to Nov 9, the 16-day space features a giant vending-machine facade that makes visitors feel like they’ve stepped into a fairy-tale candy dispenser. Each floor is designed to mimic a vending machine interior, with a 2nd-floor photo zone and 3rd–4th floors showcasing product “production” and brand moods. Visitors can join sensory, participatory missions that mimic making the candies and earn a customizable snack-vending-package reward, play simple games to get free samples, and buy limited edition merch. An 8th-floor cafe offers limited-time menu items, and Halloween road promotions will extend the brand experience. The popup aims to create a playful, immersive encounter with the brands and their new products.
