Carlos Symphony Orchestra will hold its 26th subscription concert on Oct 31 at Yeongsan Art Hall in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. Founded in 2008 from a volunteer ensemble called the “Open Sound Ensemble,” the orchestra features members from top Korean orchestras led by violinist-conductor Hwang Dong-gyun. This program, subtitled “Autumn Immersed in Melody,” invites violinist Se Seo-won (professor at the Gustav Mahler Private University in Austria) and composer An Su-hwan (professor at Dankook University). Pianist Oh Hanna will present a solo recital on Nov 1 at the same hall. Trained at Yonsei University and with graduate degrees from Frankfurt and Saarbrücken in Germany, she won the Uterpe International Piano Competition in Italy and has performed across Europe and Korea. She teaches, performs in duo settings, and won the 2023 Art Korea Broadcasting Cultural Arts Award in the music category.
