Hyundai Motor Group Surpasses 100,000 Small EVs Sold in EuropeCreatrip Team
a month ago
Hyundai Motor Group has sold 103,476 small electric vehicles in Europe from January to September, marking its highest-ever sales for the segment. The growth was driven by newly launched affordable models aimed at EV popularization, notably the Casper Electric (marketed as the Bayonet/Instar in some markets) and the Kia EV3. The EV3 alone sold 55,514 units in Europe during this period and may become the group’s top-selling EV for the year. Casper Electric sold 20,493 units and is closing in on the Kona Electric (21,224 units). The group’s strategy of offering capable, reasonably priced “mass-market” EV models, with WLTP range figures like the EV3’s 605 km and competitive post-subsidy pricing (around 40 million KRW equivalent in some markets), is expected to push Hyundai Motor Group’s total European EV sales above 200,000 for the year. New small EVs such as the Ioniq 3 and EV2 are planned for next year to sustain growth.
