Three Choreographers Reimagine Korean Dance in National Dance Company’s 'Choreographer Project'Creatrip Team
a month ago
Seoul’s National Dance Company presents the '2025 Choreographer Project', a triple-bill featuring new works by choreographers Jeong So‑yeon, Lee Ji‑hyun, and Park Su‑yun from February’s open selection. Jeong’s piece 'Neomeo' (Beyond) explores AI‑human coexistence while keeping the breath and movement of traditional Korean dance. Lee’s 'Clothes' examines socially imposed identities—using garments and hangers as symbols—through inventive objects and rhythmic scene changes with electronic and Korean musical elements. Park’s 'Juk‑Fest' (short for 'death festival') reframes death as a completion of life, staging intimate rites and communal farewells with raw sounds and live band music. The triple program will run March 6–9 at the Dalo‑eum Theater, National Theater of Korea; standout works may be added to the company’s repertoire after audience and expert review.
