South Korea’s trade negotiation chief, Yeoh Han-gu, met with Georgia Governor Brian Kemp to stress preventing repeat incidents of detentions that affected Korean personnel and could deter investment. Discussing industrial and investment cooperation, Yeoh highlighted Georgia’s key role for Korean investments in batteries, autos, semiconductors and solar. He asked for attention and efforts on visa issues (비자) to avoid chilling Korean companies’ investment plans. Governor Kemp pledged strong state-level support to help Korean firms operate and expand safely. Yeoh also attended the 40th anniversary of Georgia’s Seoul office to encourage deeper Korea–Georgia and Korea–US economic cooperation. The Korean government will keep working with US counterparts to resolve visa-related difficulties and improve systems for its investors.
