Richard Mille Redefines Square and Round: New Ultra-Thin Daily WatchesCreatrip Team
a month ago
Richard Mille continues to push shape and material boundaries with two 2025 releases: the rectangular RM 16-02 Automatic Extra Flat and the evolved round RM 33-03 Automatic. Both are ultra-thin daily watches that expand the brand’s usual tonneau (Tonneau: wine-barrel-shaped case) DNA, requiring new movement engineering. The RM 16-02 measures 36 x 45.65 mm and 9.5 mm thick, offered in grade 5 titanium and terracotta Quartz TPT® (Quartz TPT®: layered composite material used in aerospace and motorsports). It features a skeletonized CRMA9 in-house caliber, a transparent dial with connected Arabic numerals, and platinum-titanium rotors. The RM 33-03 (41.7 mm, 9.7 mm thick) evolves from the RM 033 lineage with a multifaceted bezel, new RMXP3 ultra-thin movement (3.28 mm) with a platinum micro-rotor and about 40-hour power reserve, plus added small seconds and date. Both models showcase advanced materials (titanium, Carbon TPT®, red gold), meticulous finishing techniques (sand blast, micro blast, satin finish, beveling), and the brand’s mix of technical innovation and handcrafted details. Richard Mille frames these new shapes as part of a deliberate expansion of its design spectrum while preserving the brand’s sporty-mechanical signature.
