Cheongsong County in North Gyeongsang Province will host the 19th Cheongsong Apple Festival from Oct 29 to Nov 2 along Yongjeoncheon. Under the theme “Cheongsong — Greener Again, Redder Again,” the five-day event celebrates local recovery after wildfires and showcases apples and regional specialties through contests, hands-on experiences, and performances. Highlights include a nationwide apple blossom wreath competition (꽃줄엮기) now awarding a Ministry of Culture prize, a 210-pyeong (평) apple exhibition hall featuring past apple champions, smart farming displays and apple cuisine, and multi-generational activities like apple drumming (사과난타), apple-selection lotteries, parades and a senior festival. Evening concerts feature popular Korean singers across the festival, and the finale includes a local residents’ singing contest. The county says this year’s hybrid online-offline program focuses on family-friendly experiences that blend Cheongsong’s nature, apples and community spirit.
