The Public Design Festival 2025 opens Oct. 24 in Seoul, celebrating solutions that blend technology and design to address social challenges. The Presidential Public Design Award went to Seoul’s Seocho District for an 'smoker–non-smoker coexistence public service' featuring an open smoke-venting shelter (개방형 제연 흡연시설). The festival, running Oct. 24–Nov. 2, will present 14 awardees, honor public servants, and display themed exhibits including children's works. Other awardees include a veteran-focused clothing campaign, a transparent OLED donation kiosk, and privacy/UX guidelines for public spaces. Events include talks and workshops with international speakers and regional activities in Gwangju, plus programs at 206 public design hubs nationwide with 33 offering hands-on experiences.
