South Korean biotech firm Celltrion has launched Zipiderm, a derma cosmetic brand that leverages the company’s life-science R&D to meet growing ‘ingredient-focused’ consumer demand. Zipiderm centers on a proprietary patented ingredient, Celltrion Bio EGF™, developed after extensive research to boost skin absorption, stability and efficacy. Using a ~150 nm multilayer nanostructure, the ingredient reportedly increases EGF skin penetration by over 170% and contains more than nine times the EGF concentration of previous formulations, with structural stability maintained for 100+ days. The brand’s Easy EGF Skin Barrier line features an intensive barrier cream combining the patented EGF with complex ceramides to strengthen and hydrate the skin barrier. Zipiderm will also launch a clinic-grade premium line, ZipidermEX, developed with dermatologists and set to be revealed at the KoreaDerma conference (Korea Derma 학회) on October 31.
