Paldo’s Premium Icheon Rice Sikhae Hits 1 Million Units in 6 WeeksCreatrip Team
2 months ago
Paldo announced that its new premium drink 'Icheon Haep-sal Birak Sikhae' reached cumulative sales of 1 million units just six weeks after its September launch, outpacing initial forecasts by four times and selling five times faster than expected. Made with freshly harvested rice from Icheon (a region known for high-quality rice), the product targets the traditional beverage market with improved flavor and convenience. Innovations include a full-open can that lets consumers easily scoop the settled rice grains, 20% more rice grains for chewier texture, and a malt-sweetened traditional taste. It can be stored at room temperature and, if frozen for about five hours at -18°C, enjoyed as a slushy—making it suitable for outdoor activities. Paldo plans to ramp up production and marketing to meet demand. Birak Sikhae is Paldo’s flagship traditional drink brand, first launched in 1993, and has sold over 2 billion cans to date.
