Where Did You Spend Last Summer Vacation?

A national travel satisfaction survey by Consumer Insight ranked Busan first among 16 regions for summer vacations (722 points), followed closely by Gangwon (715) and Jeju (714). Busan reclaimed the top spot thanks to high recommendation intent and strong ratings across five travel-appeal dimensions (things to do, food, sights, shopping, rest), highlighting its advantage as a seaside metropolis. Gangwon remained near the top with strengths in nature and relaxation but saw declines in comfort indicators due to extreme heat and crowding. Jeju rebounded to third after previous drops caused by high prices and overcharging controversies, yet it still lagged in travel-environment comfort and ranked lowest on price and etiquette. Jeonbuk rose to fifth, praised for both culinary culture and improved comfort; Daejeon also improved, noted for value and niche food-themed tourism. Overall, fewer people took 1+ night domestic trips this summer (66.9%), and travelers shifted from nature and rest toward food-focused and urban/experience activities (more dining, museums, galleries). The survey sampled 17,229 respondents who traveled domestically for at least one night during June–August and rated satisfaction and willingness to recommend across regions.
