The 2025 Ulsan Industry Festival (Ulsan Gong-eop Chukje) ran from May 16–19 as an eco-friendly event by distributing and cycling reusable containers. Over four days the festival used 249,210 reusable food containers and 37,550 reusable cups — a total of 286,760 reusable items — which the city estimates reduced greenhouse gas emissions by about 64.1 tons. To keep the system efficient, the city set up food zones that handled supply, collection, washing, and redistribution of the reusables. Twelve types of reusable tableware (rice bowls, soup bowls, spoons, plates, etc.) were provided for meals, and reusable cups for drinks. Officials say the approach not only cut single-use waste but also helped maintain a cleaner festival environment and plan to expand reusable use to make Ulsan a cleaner city.
