Celltrion SkinCure’s derma brand Zipiderm is positioning itself as a leader in ‘K-BioBeauty’ by applying the company’s biotech research to skincare. The brand’s patented ingredient, Celltrion Bio EGF™ (Epidermal Growth Factor), was developed and produced in-house and is claimed to enhance skin elasticity and barrier function. Using a multilayer nano-structure, the ingredient improves delivery and stability—reportedly increasing skin absorption by 170% and boosting EGF content ninefold after extensive research. Celltrion also launched Zipiderm EX, a clinic-only premium line that uses a self-assembling porous hydrogel “bio-matrix” (a formulation that stabilizes and controls release of bioactive ingredients) for low-irritation post-procedure care and sustained ingredient delivery. The company plans global expansion to markets including the U.S., Japan, Europe and Southeast Asia, and industry observers say this ingredient- and science-driven approach could raise K-Beauty’s technical competitiveness worldwide.
