YouTuber Im Lala, who recently gave birth to twins, revealed she was rushed to the emergency room due to sudden, severe pregnancy-related itching (pregnancy pruritus). In a YouTube video by 'Enjoy Couple', Im described hives spreading across her body overnight and doctors warning that, while pregnancy-related pruritus can be hormone-driven, similar symptoms could also indicate liver or bile issues that risk mother and baby. Her husband said they decided to move the delivery up by two days because her condition worsened and she could hardly sleep, especially at night. The couple, and Im’s mother, were visibly emotional before the cesarean on October 14; their baby boy weighed 3.24 kg and the girl 2.77 kg and are healthy. The report explains pregnancy pruritus often starts as rash in the stretching skin of the abdomen or sides and can be caused by rapid weight gain, dryness, heat, stress, or hormonal changes. If severe, it can lower energy, weaken immunity, and cause secondary infections; medical treatment is advised when itching disrupts sleep or daily life. Suggested relief measures include frequent moisturizing, bathing with slightly warm water, using natural bath products, keeping indoor temperature 18–20°C, avoiding spicy or processed foods, and taking probiotics.
