The Department of Music at Kangwon National University (KNU) opens its 5th KNU Music Festival on the evening of the 21st at Yegang Hall. Running through November 5, the festival features local performers and students in several events: the opening KNU Chamber Music Concert conducted by Park No-ik with violinists Kim Tae-hee and Jeong Hyun-young and cellist Nam Dong-hyun; a composers alumni concert titled “Resonance” on the 23rd at the KNU StartLab showcasing works by active regional KNU composers; a piano ensemble concert on the 3rd at Yegang Hall; and a choral performance “Boy and Choir” on the 4th at StartLab. Department head Shim Sun-min highlighted that students’ hard work in practice rooms bears fruit on stage and hopes their music will spread a warm resonance.
