Swiss Running Shoe Brand On Faces U.S. Class Action Over Loud Clicking NoiseCreatrip Team
2 months ago
Swiss sports brand On (On Running) is facing a class-action lawsuit in Oregon after customers complained that shoes with the CloudTec (CloudTec: On’s cushioning technology using hexagonal and oval air pods) soles make loud, embarrassing clicking noises while walking. Plaintiffs say the noise caused discomfort and shame and allege On knew of the issue but failed to fix it, calling the company’s marketing deceptive and seeking refunds and damages. On says the sound is normal wear, not a defect, and points to moisture, friction, or insole pressure differences as possible temporary causes. Some users have shared DIY fixes like applying coconut oil to sole cavities or drying insoles. On, founded in 2010 by triathlete Olivier Bernhard, sells running shoes in about 80 countries and ships roughly 3 million pairs a year.
