Pop star Taylor Swift appeared in a video wearing a vintage Monterey Bay Aquarium sea otter T‑shirt, sparking global fan interest and driving $2.3 million (about ₩3.27 billion) in donations to the aquarium’s otter protection fund. The shirt—originally printed in 1992 and featuring two otters—was reissued after fans flooded the aquarium with purchase requests. The fundraiser asked supporters to donate at least $65.13 (about ₩93,000) to receive the shirt by mail; the initial $1.3 million goal was met within eight hours and the campaign topped $2.3 million in two days. It remains unclear how Swift obtained the shirt; she and fiancé Travis Kelce had visited the nearby Carmel area, but the aquarium does not know if they shopped there.
