New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) has opened its first-ever MoMA Bookstore in Sinsa-dong, Seoul. Unlike the MoMA Design Stores, this new space focuses on art, design and architecture books — about 1,100 titles and some 200 curated titles selected by MoMA curators — plus exhibition catalogues and select MoMA goods. The shop, launched during Frieze Seoul week, aims to bring contemporary art closer to Seoul’s growing art scene; it will also screen digital content about current MoMA shows in New York. MoMA and Hyundai Card co-planned the store after years of partnership, and MoMA plans a 2027 English-language “Primary Documents” volume on modern and contemporary Korean art. The bookstore is open Tue–Sat 12:00–21:00, Sun/holidays 12:00–18:00, closed Mondays.
