Run Trip on Fall Seas: Je부do (Jebudo) Course RecommendationCreatrip Team
2 months ago
Jebudo, an island in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi, is gaining popularity as a scenic "run trip" destination—combining running and travel—especially in autumn. Begin at Jeongok Port and take the Seohaerang Jebudo Sea Cable Car (a 2.12 km cable car over the West Sea) to Jebudo station. From there, follow the 1 km coastal path to the red lighthouse, the start of the 2 km "Jebi-kkori-gil" (Swallow Tail Trail), a mix of seaside deck and a short forest climb (66.7 m) that loops back. The island’s 1.8 km beach, photo zones and distinctive rock formation called Maebawi ("hawk rocks") are highlights; at low tide you can walk out to the rocks. After returning by cable car to Jeongok, visit Tando Port on Daebu-do for famous West Sea sunsets and nearby Nue Island (a small uninhabited islet) reachable at low tide via the Tando tidal path—note safety: enter the tidal path 30–60 minutes after ebb begins. Jebudo’s compact 5 km perimeter, easy trails, tidal experiences ("sseolmul"—low tide), family-friendly activities and picnic-friendly beaches make it ideal for beginner runners and leisurely travelers.
