Foodist has completed a full renovation of dining areas at four rest stops on the Duckyusan and Gochang Goin-dol (고창고인돌) highway stations, marking the first overhaul in 24 years. Leveraging 30 years of experience in food supply and contract catering, the company introduced premium food-court style spaces that mix local specialties and national brands. Menus feature regional Korean dishes like beef soup with napa cabbage (sogogi ugogji haejangguk) and mudfish soup (chueotang), alongside multi-cuisine outlets such as Sodam Ttukbaegi (Korean), Haotzu Mien (Chinese), Gatsrang (Japanese), and Seumyeodeu Snack (snack foods). Duckyusan rest area also added the highway’s first GS25 convenience store on the Daejeon–Tongyeong Expressway, expanded ready-to-heat meal options, and diversified product selections for long-distance travelers and truck drivers. Renovation goals include turning rest areas from simple transit stops into stay-oriented spaces with improved flow, trendy cafés, premium nursing rooms, and an eco-friendly separated recycling zone (‘Hyu’ recycling area). Foodist is strengthening regional collaboration through MOUs and menu development with local governments and festivals, promoting local agricultural products like Gochang watermelon and nearby tourist sites to boost visitation and support the regional economy. The company says the upgrades aim to raise convenience, dining variety, and overall service quality for highway users.
