The inaugural Food Pairing Festa, a culinary culture festival blending food, beverages and performances, opens at Mulwang Lake in Siheung on the 26th at 11 a.m. Food pairing means combining dishes with drinks, spaces and cultural elements to create new experiences. Domestic and international chefs, cafes, breweries, roasteries, bartenders and dessert artists will showcase signature menus. Attendees can sample expert pairing dishes and drinks, and buy assorted pairing packages. After age verification, adults can purchase a tasting glass for 1,000 won to sample wines, beers and cocktails at about 40 booths; minors can enjoy non-alcoholic drinks for the same fee. The venue features a Global Zone, K-Zone (Korean zone), hands-on activities and live performances set against Mulwang Lake’s scenic backdrop. Organized by the Local Creator Arts Collective and planned by 27-year-old director and local drink specialist Lee Hae-in, the festival aims to connect local charm with global audiences.
