The 2025 “BbangBbang Day” bakery festival will be held Oct 18–19 at Cheonan Sports Complex, bringing together 51 local bakeries. Launched in 2021 to promote Cheonan as the “home of walnut cookies (hodu-gwaja)” and as a city of bread, the participatory festival encourages use of local agricultural products and collaboration among bakeries, farmers, companies and universities. Featured items include signature breads such as myeongran baguette, walnut pie, gaeseong juak (a traditional rice cake), chimney bread, and a variety of hodu-gwaja made with fillings like red bean butter (ang-butter), banana and matcha. Rice-based breads designed to boost rice consumption and healthier options will debut. Vendors must display prices, and receipt-based giveaways are planned. Visitors can enjoy baking workshops (walnut cookie and cookie-making), performances by popular singers, an autumn bread concert, and a drone light show.
