Korean Air announced it will waive cancellation fees for flights from South Korea to Cambodia (KE689) through December 31, 2025, for tickets booked for travel between Oct. 10 and year-end. The move follows a string of crimes targeting Koreans in Cambodia and recent travel restrictions by the South Korean Foreign Ministry that designated Kampot Province’s Bokor Mountain area, Bavet City, and Poipet City as travel-ban zones. Korean Air operates a daily round-trip direct Incheon–Takmao service using A330-300 aircraft (272 seats). The carrier has also instructed local staff and layover crew to be vigilant, maintain emergency contact networks, and has coordinated with airport security, which has been conducting safety checks and Q&A with departing passengers at Incheon Terminal 2. (Takmao: the airport destination for flights serving Phnom Penh area)
