Lotte Chilsung Beverage has launched a limited-run single malt whisky, the 'Glengoyne Korea Edition', in collaboration with the Gansong Museum. Named after the Scottish Gaelic word for 'valley of the geese', the edition uses the concept 'geese, connecting two cultures' and features a label and case illustrated with 'Nojeoraean (蘆渚來雁)', a bird-and-flower painting of geese by late Joseon painter Oh Won (Jang Seung-eop). Only 285 bottles were produced; the whisky was matured for 17 years in European First Fill Oloroso Sherry Oak (Hogshead) casks and offers aromas of raspberry, vanilla and pear with flavors of banana, cinnamon, berries and lingering cocoa and dried fruit. Alcohol content is 53.8% and the bottle is sold through specialty liquor retailers and convenience store smart orders. This release continues Lotte Chilsung’s cultural partnership with the Gansong Museum, following previous limited editions that used Korean art on labels to promote national heritage.
