SonoCham Gyeongju, a newly rebranded five-star resort by Daemyung Sono Group (Sono International), opened after a 13-month overhaul of the former SonoBel Gyeongju. The resort spans basement 2 to 12 floors above ground with 418 rooms across seven types, including lake-view and pet-friendly rooms and a large presidential suite. Interiors blend traditional Korean aesthetics with modern comforts. Dining includes six on-site outlets — a buffet 'Dameum' with about 80 dishes, Korean fine-dining 'Sodam', grill restaurant 'Sikgaek', and a lakeside bakery cafe 'Orot'. The signature Wellness Pool & Spa uses mildly alkaline hot spring water drawn from 680 m underground and features main, lane, secret, and the only outdoor pool in Gyeongju with views of Bomun Lake. Facilities also include a 400+ capacity banquet/conference hall with large LED, a book cafe 'Seojae', and a modern take on a traditional wedding convention (inspired by a traditional Korean wedding ceremony). Positioned within the historic city of Gyeongju, SonoCham aims to offer restful, reflective stays that marry Korean beauty with contemporary luxury.
