Seogu Cultural Center will present the Seogu愛 Mato Concert “Encore Gayatgo” on the 25th at 5 PM, featuring pansori vocalist Nam Sang-il and the Rosa Gayageum Orchestra (artistic director Jeong Mi-hwa, conductor Park Hyun-young). The program blends Korean traditional and Western instruments—string and percussion—opening with a modum-buk (traditional Korean drum) concerto “Ta,” followed by vocal pieces including “Hope Song,” “The Broken Wall Clock,” and “Love Song” from the opera Chunhyangjeon, sung by Nam Sang-il, soprano Lee Kyung-jin, and tenor Shin Hyun-wook. Jeong Mi-hwa will solo in a gayageum (가야금: Korean zither) sanjo concerto “Journey of the Blue Desert,” and the orchestra will close with a passionate rendition of “Lambada.” The Rosa Gayageum Orchestra, known for over 500 domestic and international performances and cross-genre collaborations, aims to showcase the gayageum’s versatility. Tickets are free, limited to two per person, available from the 22nd at 9 AM; suitable for audiences aged middle school and up. (gayageum: a traditional Korean plucked zither)
