Jeonju city will host the 2025 Hanbok Culture Week from the 21st to the 26th across the old downtown, including Jeolla Gamyeong and the Korean Traditional Culture Center. Under the theme “Hanbok culture where modernity and tradition coexist,” the festival features exhibitions, hands-on experiences, performances and social contribution programs. The opening on the 21st at 5 p.m. at Jeolla Gamyeong is the Hanbok Day ceremony “Bidan-ya(비단夜),” where locals and foreigners can wear hanbok (traditional Korean clothing), enjoy traditional games, and watch a hanbok lantern (한복등) ceremony and performances; the first 200 visitors can borrow hanbok for free. The Korean Traditional Culture Center outdoor yard and Jeonju Hanbok Culture Creation Studio will host the “Jeonju Hanbok Lab,” showcasing experimental spaces and photo zones that fuse traditional hanbok with modern design. On the 22nd–23rd, the “Hanbok-imbued Elegance(한복물든 품격)” program offers lessons in traditional etiquette, hanbok wearing and accessory-making; on the 24th a family group from the Jeonju Disability Family Support Center will perform pansori (traditional Korean narrative singing) in “Hanbok-imbued Sound(한복물든 소리).” From the 24th–26th, regional hanbok culture programs run in connection with Jeonju Festa and the Korea Craft and Design Foundation. Visitors can try on hanbok and make accessories for free. More information is available from the Jeonju Cultural Foundation website or by phone.
