In celebration of its 55th anniversary, the Hyundai Gallery in Seoul is showcasing a special retrospective of the late Korean-German artist Noeunnim (1946–2022), titled 'With The Red Bird'. This exhibition displays over 20 works from her prolific period during the 1980s and 1990s. The pieces, mostly large-scale paintings, capture a sense of liberation and vitality. Noeunnim, who moved to Germany in the 1970s, is honored as a pivotal figure in contemporary Korean art, with her works reflecting themes of existence through bold lines and vibrant colors. This retrospective is supported by her adopted son and art curator, Kwon Jun-seong, emphasizing the timelessness and ongoing impact of her artistry. The exhibition runs until November 23, with free admission to the public.
