Family Love Captured by Korean Artists: Na Hye-seok's Album and MoreCreatrip Team
2 months ago
The 'Staying Moments, Flowing Hearts' exhibition at Suwon Museum of Art showcases the only surviving heirloom of Na Hye-seok, Korea's first modern female painter, a photo album containing 96 photographs with handwritten captions. Na's album reflects her complex relationship with family, as she pined for her children after losing custody post-divorce. The exhibition includes works by other notable modern artists like Park Soo-keun and Lee Jung-seop, who also expressed family themes in their art. Their works poignantly capture the emotional depth and personal histories of these artists. This exhibition offers a unique glimpse into Korea's modern art history and artists' personal stories of love and longing. It is open until January 11, 2026.
