During the recent Chuseok holiday, approximately 340,000 visitors, including tourists and returning residents, traveled to Jeju Island, setting a new daily record with 52,022 visitors on October 4th. The number of visitors represents an 11% increase compared to the previous year. The increase is attributed to longer holiday periods and more available flights. The total number of foreign tourists as of October 9th is 1.79 million, a 15.3% increase from the previous year. Although overall visitor numbers for the year are slightly down, monthly statistics since June show consistent growth. The trend is expected to continue with the resumption of school trips and leisure group tours, along with an increase in family visits. Jeju tourism officials highlight the island's progression towards stable growth and sustainable global tourism.
