Taiwanese artist Shih Yung Chun is hosting his first solo exhibition in Seoul at Arario Gallery from November 16 to December 6. Titled 'Uncanny Love,' the exhibition features a series of stage-like installations resembling puppet theatre and expands into paintings and video art. The works depict various scenes like kitchens, bedrooms, and bars, evoking nostalgia with old toys and childhood memories. The title 'Uncanny Love' symbolizes the unexpected relationships formed between objects from different times and contexts, reflecting themes of desire and betrayal. Shih, known for using discarded items as art, has been recognized in major exhibitions around the world.
