Controversy Over High-Priced Cafeteria Meals at KEPCOCreatrip Team
2 months ago
Korean office workers are distressed by rising meal prices, including cafeteria food which has become increasingly expensive. At a KEPCO (Korea Electric Power Corporation) branch in Boryeong, employees must pay 8,000 KRW (~$7 USD) per meal for cafeteria food like soup, fried seaweed stems, and kimchi. Even if they don't eat, 20 days' worth of meal payments are deducted from their salary. This has caused dissatisfaction among workers, who expected affordable dining options. The quality of food and lack of protein have drawn further complaints.
