According to the World Instant Noodles Association, South Korea consumed 4.1 billion instant noodle packs in 2024, making it the eighth-largest consumer globally. Per capita, South Koreans eat 79.2 instant noodle packs annually, placing the country second in the world. Vietnam ranks first with 81 packs per person. Despite traditionally leading, South Korea was overtaken by Vietnam in 2021. Noodle consumption is particularly high in Asian countries like Vietnam and Indonesia. In terms of sheer quantity, China remains the largest market, consuming 43.8 billion packs in 2024. The popularity of K-Ramen contributes to the growth of the Korean food market, with a 24.7% increase in ramen exports from January to September 2024 compared to the same period in the previous year, totaling $1.116 billion.
