Sowoldang, a small business from Ulsan's Ulju-gun, was chosen as one of 60 promising enterprises in Korea's 'Strong Small Business' initiative by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, among 7,147 nationwide candidates. The business gained recognition for its innovative pear-based bread ('pear bread'), an example of utilizing local resources to create high-value products. Sowoldang's model supports local agriculture and showcases Ulju's pears ('bae') across the country. The initiative also connects agricultural production, food manufacturing, and tourism, boosting regional economic synergy.
